    Job Summary:

    The Training Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of new employee onboarding and ongoing sales training across Denver Post Media’s sales and operations teams.  The Training Manager implements training to increase the effectiveness of Denver Post’s advertising organization, including: sales, operations, and support teams.  Additionally, the position works with others on the MediaNews Group team and within the sales organization to communicate all details of the sales initiatives and training.   


    Essential Functions:

    • Develop training modules that communicate both product knowledge and sales approach strategy for The Denver Post’s advertising and operations teams. Understanding of digital advertising products and Google AdWords is crucial to this position’s success.
    • Coordinates communication to key stake holders and schedules both new and ongoing training supporting products and initiatives. Arranges tools to support sales initiatives and make them accessible to the sales organization.
    • Delivers training to managers within the sales organization in coordination with the MediaNews Group’s training group's leadership development program.
    • Tracks results on all sales training initiatives and product rollout programs.
    • Supports sales initiatives developed by the Denver Post Media sales leadership through effective training programs that are trackable.
    • Coordinates coaching tools that would be available for sales directors to use in the field to reinforce knowledge learned from trainings.
    • Manages feedback channel on all training programs by leveraging a survey system that monitors feedback on sales product rollouts and sales training initiatives. Reports those results to key stakeholders.
    • Coordinates all sales training communication to the advertising and operations teams, including regularly sharing training schedules and newsletters.
    • Other duties as assigned.



    • 2+ years in a sales training, coaching or management position, ideally within digital or multimedia advertising.
    • High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
    • Training certification from Center for Sales Strategy or similar certification desired.
    • A thorough understanding of training techniques, learning principals and the sales process.
    • Experience organizing and planning formal sales training for diverse sales teams.
    • Excellent presentation and customer relationship skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated time management skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
    • Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle required.
