    Overview

    We are seeking an OutsideMultiMedia Sales person responsible for directly selling print and online advertising solutions that include print and online solutions to include banner ads, Yahoo! and new products based on your advertisers needs with well rounded campaigns. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new accounts through cold calling, and growing established accounts. As a result of you uncovering your clients needs you will be making advertising recommendations with key decision makers through formal sales presentations. 

    Media News Group, subsidiaries of California Newspaper Partnership, is the largest newspaper publisher in California and 4th largest in the nation. Our publications include The San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times, and Oakland Tribune, although we have nearly 30 publications in Northern California. Our papers carry a history over 100 years of providing quality news and information to the Bay Area and Northern CA.     Minimum 2 years previous business to business sales experience is required, preferably with multiple product offerings, a consultative sales approach, and on a local level. Multimedia back ground is a plus. The ideal candidate should possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle deadline pressure environment, and have a strong emphasis on attaining personal, team and departmental goals in an ever changing environment is a must.#NorCal

     

     

    Responsibilities

    We’re looking for a talented and savvy salesperson to join our team.  

     

    A strong candidate will have excellent sales and closing skills both on phone and in person. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of media sales success, fierce work ethic, excellent communication skills and understanding of print and digital media advertising solutions. Compensation consists of a competitive base salary plus monthly performance-based commissions.

     

    Our ideal candidate will have have demonstrated success in the following areas:

    • Developing & selling effective and high return print and digital campaigns
    • Identifying and prospecting large opportunities at multiple levels
    • Meeting and exceeding monthly sales goals
    • Overseeing your clients’ campaigns and regularly communicating performance results

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Media and sales experience
    • Bachelor Degree in business, communication, marketing or related field (preferred) 
    • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals Proven prospecting and cold calling experience 
    • Passion, desire and motivation to sell and close new business 
    • Strong relationship building and account management skills 
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google products 
    • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Identify, prospect and cold call businesses at multiple levels 
    • Close new business on a consistent basis 
    • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals 
    • Maintain an active schedule of face-to-face appointments and prospecting calls 
    • Manage your own sales activity and pipeline to meet revenue targets and company goals 
    • Oversee your clients’ campaigns and regularly communicate performance results 
    • Drive retention and growth with existing client base
