    Overview

    The Denver Post, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is is looking for an aggressive, enterprising breaking-news reporter who thrives on adrenaline and the rush of doing strong, accurate journalism in high-pressure situations. MediaNews Group offers news reporting and third party advertising and marketing opportunities through its multi-platform products which include: web, mobile, tablet, and print.  We are one of the largest media groups in the U.S., serving high-value audiences and connecting advertisers to them.     Responsibilities

    This job would entail covering all manner of breaking news and general-assignment subjects in the Denver metro area, as well as broader criminal justice issues. 
     

    Qualifications

    We're interested in someone who can come up with 1A-quality stories on their own, respond quickly to breaking events, and report thoroughly and write quickly and clearly in deadline situations. Plus, the right candidate must be able to handle longer-term planning, development and execution of in-depth projects and series.  
     
    Furthermore, we are looking for someone with a full range of digital skills, with the ability to use social media and to shoot photos and video, and be willing and ready to learn and master the latest technologies to assist in newsgathering and storytelling.  
     
    The ideal candidate would have three to five years' experience in a daily multimedia news environment.
