    The Denver Post, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Project Manager to join the team!  MediaNews Group offers news reporting and third party advertising and marketing opportunities through its multi-platform products which include: web, mobile, tablet, and print.  We are one of the largest media groups in the U.S., serving high-value audiences and connecting advertisers to them. MNG publishes award-winning content (49 Pulitzers) that amasses and engages a nationwide audience via 800 multi-media platforms including web, mobile, social, and print.  We are transforming the news industry.


    The Project Manager is responsible for increasing digital and print revenue by developing, implementing and promoting a strategy for sponsorships, initiatives and advertising campaigns.  You will work closely with internal teams such as sales, sales support, audience, and editorial.  The ideal candidate is a motivated person who can effectively work with different groups to deliver innovative solutions that increase revenue capacity and will scale with our rapidly growing business in a constantly evolving marketplace.


    Essential Functions: 

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between sales and support teams to ensure all deliverables are on track, within scope and meeting product quality standards — all with the aim of providing excellent ad and content experiences for advertisers.
    • Liaise with the editorial department to identify revenue generating initiatives.
    • Understand the full suite of DP Media and Adtaxi products across all platforms.
    • Manage the DP Media resource center- a centralized repository of sales & ops tools, media kit, sales collateral, product offerings, playbooks, runners, case studies and updated audience stats.
    • Manage and update the Denver Post Media website
    • Partner with the training manager to build training materials, decks, etc.
    • Assist sales leadership in event planning and event management.
    • Build and revise media plans, check avails, reserve placements and update associated calendars as needed.
    • Develop new opportunities with sales leads and creative teams to produce, package and go to market.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with external and internal clients and departments
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while still managing to pay close attention to detail
    • Sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize problems, analyze and resolve issues
    • Self-motivated and resourceful, proactive
    • Ability to thrive in a continuously changing environment
    • Capable of learning new tools as adopted by company with little supervision



    • BBA, BA, BS (Marketing, Emerging Technologies, Business, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Liberal Arts) or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably in media
    • Certifications in the following areas: CompTIA Project+, CPM, APM, CAPM, MPM, PPM, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PRINCE2
    • Experience working in a multimedia organization is a huge plus
    • Full G-suite proficiency
    • Working knowledge of Wordpress
    • Ability to compose professional correspondence that is grammatically sound and free of spelling/punctuation errors
