    We’re the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier news organization, and we’re seeking reporters to cover breaking news and local communities. Our journalists work in real time, publishing words, sounds and images around the clock for millions of online readers and hundreds of thousands of people who get our daily newspapers. 


    Covering Bay Area transportation issues and agencies from a commuter perspectiveYou’ll report from the office and from the field, sometimes capturing audio, photos or video as you work. You’ll publish breaking news quickly and work closely with editors on feature and in-depth stories.


    If you’re the ideal candidate you’ll have most of these qualities:

    • Excellent news judgment
    • Strong writing skill under real-time deadline pressure
    • The ability to juggle multiple stories of varying complexity
    • Proficiency at using social media to report stories and to share them
    • Two or more years’ experience as a working journalist
    • Bachelor’s degree
