    The Daily Freeman in Kingston, NY, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Multi Media Account Executive for a unique opportunity for an advertising expert in this Ulster County community. MediaNews Group offers news reporting and third party advertising and marketing opportunities through its multi-platform products which include: web, mobile, tablet, and print.  We are one of the largest media groups in the U.S., serving high-value audiences and connecting advertisers to them. MNG publishes award-winning content (49 Pulitzers) that amasses and engages a nationwide audience via 800 multi-media platforms including web, mobile, social, and print.  We are transforming the news industry.

    Responsibilities

    We are looking for an ambitious and energetic sales executive that is hard-working, competitive and possesses a positive attitude.  You will have the opportunity to manage and grow a local account base as well as develop new business. You’ll be expected to source for leads, research, present and close sales, in-person and on the phone.  An affinity for networking within the community is an asset. Prior success in exceeding sales goals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment is essential, as are strong organizational and communication skills.  Our Multi Media Account Executives partner with local businesses to provide total audience advertising solutions.  

    Qualifications

    Proven outside Business to Business sales experience preferred

     

    • Some knowledge of advertising is a plus
    • MS Office and strong computer skills (will also use CRM Tool)
    • Strong time management and communication skills
    • Aggressive and relentless in prospecting for new business and skilled at needs assessment-based selling
    • Consistent in follow up and commitments to prospects and customers
    • This is a full-time position; we offer a base salary plus uncapped commission and full benefits. 
    • Valid driver's license and insurance required.
