The Boulder Daily Camera, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Photojournalist to join the team! MediaNews Group offers news reporting and third party advertising and marketing opportunities through its multi-platform products, which include web, mobile, tablet, and print. The ideal candidate will consistently create stunning visuals and excel at capturing critical story-telling moments for digital and print platforms. The staff photojournalist will cover a variety of stories and subjects including sports, news, features and spot news. Their work will regularly appear in the Daily Camera, Times-Call, Broomfield Enterprise, Colorado Hometown Weekly and on and

  • Produce photos and videos that meet or exceed the Daily Camera’s standards, including technical quality and visual interest.
  • Perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Provide accurate information for captions.
  • Shoot, edit and send photos remotely.
  • Contribute to and generate story ideas that help inform the community.
  • Effectively use social media to find news and unique photo opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with editors and reporters.
  • Work nights and weekends when required.
  • Create photo galleries in WordPress.
  • Search for feature photos when needed.


  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in journalism, communications, media, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years working at a daily newspaper, wire service or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of AP style.
  • Proficient with PhotoShop, Premiere and PhotoMechanic.
  • Awareness of journalistic ethical standards and practices.
  • A self starter with a positive attitude who is curious about the communities they cover.
  • A portfolio showing exemplary coverage of news, sports, spot news and features.


This position will primarily be weekdays but will shift to afternoon/night when the school year starts to cover sports.
